Hospitality is definitely not an “easy option” as so many people think. The work is wildly varied and it takes enormous amounts of enthusiasm, initiative and a pinch of madness to keep things running smoothly. So thank you, amazing people, for regularly braving the elements to come and work with us. We love you for it 🙏🏻

👋🏼 Hello lovely people! We just wanted to say a quick hello to our new followers and share some fun Sorelle facts for our ongoing followers…
1️⃣ ‘Sorelle’ is Italian for ‘sisters’ (that’s us! Matilda & Natalie)
2️⃣ We started a cafe to help diversify our small family farm. We now run regular events and have on-site glamping too! Alongside keeping sheep, chickens and two very spoiled pigs…
3️⃣ On our first day open we took £9.50 (from one customer) and we were delighted
4️⃣ We both have spaniels who are also sisters (Maggie & Mango) and our mum has their mum, Purdy (we know, it’s excruciatingly cute)
5️⃣ We adore delicious food and always use locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. We’re also a bit obsessed with coffee. And pastries. And cake 👀
6️⃣ Our little business couldn’t open each day without our genuinely wonderful (and bonkers) team of awesome humans. Without them it’s just us, a basket of croissants and some rusty coffee skills, which would be pretty disappointing for all you fab customers.

So here’s a big THANK YOU to everyone who supports us, both in person and from afar. We are still delighted every time you decide to visit 🙏🏻

🌸 A quick divergence from food to talk about flowers!
We’ve always intended to open up our flower farm to the public for ‘Pick Your Own’ evenings or just for the joy of wandering around space.
So far, we’ve been scuppered by insurance (year 1), monsoon-style rain (year 2) and now drought (year 3). While our flower stand is regularly stocked with blooms from our farm, we really don’t have the quantities of flowers that we should at this time of year. Certainly not enough to justify PYO when we have existing flowery commitments to weddings and events.
🌼 SO we are putting a pin in PYO for this year. We’re sorry to disappoint our customers, but unless a weather-based miracle occurs and our plants start growing at a rate of knots, we just can’t anticipate suitable quantities of flowers this year.
We’re not giving up on the vision though! So watch this space and, with a little patience, hopefully you’ll be roaming our flower farm next summer snipping blooms into a bucket. 🤞🏼

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the customers are crying…. Wait, what?
We are open this weekend, but will be CLOSED from the 4th September for TWO WEEKS 😰😭 I know. It’s a lot.
We are refitting our kitchen which is incredibly exciting for us and incredibly boring for you, so we are very sorry. BUT we will be back and better than ever (with a shiny new kitchen floor that you’ll probably never see) on the 19th September.
☕️ Consider this your opportunity to support some of the other fantastic independent cafes in North Dorset, before returning to us for a slap up brunch and cup of Dorset’s finest coffee later in the month.

You know the drill: this is the post where we re-introduce ourselves to the delightful flurry of new followers that we’ve recently received! Hello, welcome and thank you 🙏🏻
We are Matilda & Natalie, the sisters behind Sorelle. Most days we can be found in either a kitchen or a field (or very occasionally a pub) where we’ll be cooking brunch for our customers or planting and harvesting flowers (providing that the slugs don’t get there first).
Sorelle is a cafe within a stretch tent, so we pretend that we’re in Italy and generally try to ignore the rain when it comes. Whether through food, flowers or events, everything we do comes from a genuine wish to make everyone’s day a little bit yummier. If that’s a word.

👉 TONIGHT 16th August - we’ve got @st.fian joining us all the way from the wilds of Somerset. Be sure to catch this foot-stomping folk duo from 7pm. We’ll be serving aperitivo 5pm-8pm with the bar open until 9pm(ish)!
👉 Friday 23rd August we are CLOSED for a wonderful wedding! Sorry gang…
👉 Friday 30th August- the very talented @benfrancishq will be with us to celebrate (I think?) our final Friday aperitivo night! 😢 Don’t miss this one - fabulous music, tasty nibbles and gallons of excellent Italian wine on offer.

DON’T PANIC - we will be filling the diary with plenty of Autumnal events to keep you busy, but we won’t be open every single Friday night… because we’re in England (not Italy, sadly) and the weather isn’t exactly reliable. Stay tuned for updates!
